Welcome to this post in which I describe my collection of motorhome, campervan, caravan, and camping logbooks and journals.  I will show you all the useful features and tell you how you can get your hands on some copies.  Buy them for yourself or as gifts for friends and family.

Why I Created My Logbooks

In the digital age, where everyone records and stores important information on their phones or laptops, we are losing the ability and the wherewithal to keep notes in a form which is a pleasure to refer to or to show to others.  I am old school!  In the same way that I prefer to have a paper diary (click this link to see my 2024 Travel Diary), I also like to have a written record of our travels in Bertha, our beloved campervan.  I enjoy keeping notes on the campsites and other stopovers we’ve used, our purchases, and the fuel we’ve used.

When we bought Bertha in 2020, I wrote down where we went in her in a little notebook which I kept in the glove box.  It soon began to look a bit tatty, and it was difficult to find the notes I’d made about certain stopovers.  I needed to be better organised.  I searched online for something suitable to record our travels in.  I ordered a couple, but neither was exactly what I was looking for.  So, I designed and produced my own!

I began with a paperback campervan logbook.  I was very happy with it.  When I showed it to friends and family, it was clear that there was a need for other versions.  Now, I have combined logbooks and journals for motorhomes, caravans, tents, and campervans.  All of them are available in both paperback and hardback editions.

Features of my Motorhome, Campervan, Caravan, and Camping Logbooks and Journals

The features are consistent across all of my books.  The only changes are the references to the type of unit and the icon that appears on every page.

About our Motorhome/Campervan/Caravan/Tent

A page to record the details about your unit, including the make and model, insurance details, service history, when purchased, etc. Obviously, the title changes depending on which journal you buy.

Campsite/Stopover Bucket List

A double page to make a note of all the places people tell you about or that you read about, that make you think, ‘That sounds good – we must go there one day!’

Travel Planner

Three double pages, this time to write down your travel plans so you can see at a glance where you’ll be when!

Expense Tracker

Five double pages to record everything you spend on your unit and the reasons why.  I love keeping track of what I have spent on improvements to Bertha.  At the end of the day, I can see what great value she is for the amount of time we spend in her!

Fuel Log

Another five double pages, this time to make a note every time you fill up.

Lists

I have included lists of essential kit to keep in or with your unit, as well as those items to pack at the last minute.  There is also a place to write down other pre-trip things to do.

Notes

There is a double page to write any miscellaneous notes.

Campsite/Stopover Records

Approximately 62 double-page record sheets to note down everywhere you stay.  There is space to write the address, how you booked it, when you stayed, how much it cost, what amenities there were, and what you liked and didn’t like.  You can even give the site/stopover a star rating.  There is also plenty of room to write notes about your stay or to stick in mementoes or photos. Obviously, the icon changes depending on which journal you buy.

Extra Pages

At the back of my motorhome, campervan, caravan, and camping logbooks and journals, you will find plenty of extra pages, half of them blank and half of them lined, for anything else you want to keep.  This could be extra notes, future plans, photos, contact details of people you meet on the road, postcards, tickets, photos – anything you like 😊.
